  5. Astro.22 Pro. Astrology is a program that accurately calculates the
  6. position of the planets, cusps and zodiac positions to within
  7. approximately thirty seconds of arc. It is specifically designed for
  8. the discerning Astrologer who needs a comprehensive range of features
  9. combined with accuracy, versatility, upgradeability and ease of use -
  10. at an affordable price!

  12. Astro.22 Pro. Astrology should not be dismissed as just another
  13. astrology program. It is devised to meet the needs of all those who
  14. have an interest in this subject at whatever level. Even those who
  15. have no technical knowledge of astrology are able to produce charts
  16. almost immediately. Before the advent of home computers such a task
  17. would have required months of study and a more than average aptitude
  18. for mathematics. From the more involved student to the professional,
  19. all will enjoy the ease, speed and general design of the program which
  20. immediately calculates needed data. Astrologers are able to  work with
  21. a chart from any perspective without fumbling through too many menu
  22. systems, prompts and windows. For example, if the necessary modules
  23. are present, a chart may be calculated; examined for applying
  24. transits; progressed to any date; cross checked against a Natal chart;
  25. Tertiary aspects noted etc., all within a few seconds. Aspects may be
  26. viewed in any of three modes: Grid format, Tabulated or Graphic. Any
  27. work screen may be updated in time increments or decrements, even
  28. progressed charts. The program is fully menu driven with hot keys and
  29. keyboard short-cuts to suit most users. A mouse is recommended but not
  30. essential.

  32. The program is not a tutorial in the subject of astrology. It is a
  33. specialised tool intended for serious use.
  34.  
  35. Those who have no knowledge of Astrology are advised to borrow
  36. books from the library as supplementary reading. The hard part of
  37. astrology, namely calculating the chart, is done by Astro.22. The more
  38. experienced astrologers will immediately recognise the potential of
  39. Astro.22 and will derive great pleasure from its use.

  41. Several add-on modules are already available for release and details
  42. of these can be found in the Pull-down Menu against 'Astro.22' and
  43. 'Help' or directly from the disk file 'MODULES.TXT'.

  45. The advantage of the extra modules is that only those parts
  46. which are suitable for present personal requirements need be
  47. purchased. Further modules may be added as the need arises.
  48. Those with only a casual interest in Astrology can derive great
  49. pleasure from producing personalised character profiles for family and
  50. friends using the 'Character Analysis Module' and by evaluating
  51. future trends with the 'Prediction Module'. The text files are in the
  52. region of 300K and can be edited by the user in any word processor in
  53. ASCII mode. Also, there is no restriction on the amount of extra
  54. script that may be added to the existing text files.

  57. The minimum hardware requirement is a PC with 640K RAM and VGA
  58. graphics.

  60. The program is simple to use and will run from either Floppy disk or
  61. Hard Drive.

  63. From floppy, load DOS and at the 'A>' prompt type CD ASTRO22 then type
  64. ASTRO22.
  65.  
  66. When the program has loaded press 'F1' to activate the Menu Bar and
  67. use the keyboard 'Tab and Arrow Keys' to move through the options. A
  68. mouse is the favoured method of selection. From the 'Help' option
  69. select 'Instructions' for information on how to use the program. The
  70. option is given to direct the file to a printer.

  72. To install onto hard drive from MSDOS:
  73. ----------------------------------------
  74. 1) Create a directory on drive 'C:' named ASTRO22, e.g.,
  75.    MKDIR C:\ASTRO22.
  76.  
  77. 2) Use the MSDOS XCOPY command to copy all the  files to this
  78.    directory, e.g., XCOPY A:\ASTRO22 C:\ASTRO22/S/E.

  80. 3) To call the program from drive 'C:'type CD ASTRO22 then type
  81.    ASTRO22

  83. To install onto hard drive using Windows 3.1:

  86. 1) Open File Manager and make certain that the Astro.22 disk is in
  87.    drive 'A'
  88.  
  89. 2) Ensure that you are in the root directory of 'C:' by double
  90.    clicking on the icon 'C:\' at the very top of the application list.
  91.    This icon should remain highlighted.

  93. 3) Select drive 'A:' by double clicking on the drive icon a.
  94.  
  95. 4) Select the Astro.22 folder and holding down the left mouse button
  96.    drag this folder to the drive icon c.
  97.  
  98. Astro.22 may be installed into Windows 3.1 as a 'Non Windows
  99. Application'.

  101. A quick way of installing:
  102.  
  103. 1) Call File Manager and adjust the size of the window to enable you
  104.    to view the Application Window.
  105.  
  106. 2) From the  File Manager open the Astro.22 folder and locate
  107.    'astro22.exe'. Select this file and holing down the left mouse
  108.    button drag the program to the Application Window then release
  109.    the mouse button.
  110.  
  111. I trust that Astro_22 will be of use to those with an interest in the
  112. subject of Astrology and suggestions for improvement or modification
  113. will be gratefully received and implemented wherever possible.

  117. Version 3.5 of Astro.22 is distributed as SHAREWARE and if you enjoy
  118. the program and wish to continue using it then you are obliged to
  119. register for a fee of £15.00. (Not required if you purchase modules to
  120. this amount.) If you also send in your original Shareware disk the
  121. most recent copy of the program will be sent.
